Parents Association School Fundraiser

The Parents Association of Coláiste Phobal Ros Cré, in conjunction with its main sponsor, Premier Credit Union is excited to announce its first-ever 5k Fun Run/Walk, set to take place on Sunday, March 9, 2025, at 10:00 AM. This community event aims to raise funds for the Wellbeing Development program at Coláiste Phobal Ros Cré, promoting physical and mental fitness, teamwork, and school spirit among students, teachers, families, and community members.

The 5k Fun Run/Walk is a highly anticipated event that will bring together the entire community in support of a great cause. Participants will have the opportunity to enjoy a fun and healthy activity while contributing to the wellbeing of the students at Coláiste Phobal Ros Cré.

The school’s parent’s association are also extremely grateful to Brian King and the Board of Premier Credit Union for their very generous sponsorship of the event.

Coláiste Phobal Ros Cré is dedicated to fostering the wellbeing of its students through various initiatives, including Kindness Week, guest speakers and workshops, school trips, and whole-school activities. The funds raised from the 5k Fun Run/Walk will support these initiatives and provide resources to promote student and staff wellbeing.

Our students who are taking part will be out and about gathering sponsorship on their cards for the event and there is also a draw for prizes to those who buy lines with Bank of Ireland kindly sponsoring tickets to upcoming Munster games in Thomond Park. Everyone is welcome to walk the route if they so wish.

For the more competitive participants chip and pin timing for the event is also available, with trophies on the day available for the best adult male and female times along with the best male and female student times. Registration for timing is available through social media links on the schools Instagram and Facebook pages. Alternatively, you can also email funrun@cpr.ie

Join us for a day of fun, fitness, and community spirit at the Coláiste Phobal Ros Cré 5k Fun Run/Walk. We look forward to seeing you there!

IMMAF European Championships

We here at Coláiste Phobal Ros Cré are all very proud of our 1st year student Dylan Feehan’s performance during midterm representing Ireland at the IMMAF European championships in Serbia .

Unfortunately, it didn’t go his way but we were told that he fought his heart out against the best in Europe and proved he belonged there.

Dylan has already achieved so much from such a young age and we have no doubt that there is a lot more to come !

Well done Dylan on representing your country in such a massive stage and in such a massive event !

Senior Girls Soccer

Our Colaiste Phobal Senior Soccer girls headed to Longford town to play Mercy Secondary School Ballymahon, Co. Longford in a league match.

In the opening minutes there were great saves made by Coláiste’s goalkeeper  Grace Mulrooney. Our defence line played tremendously keeping the ball up the field. There were threatening shots made by Ceola Bergin, Mya Steele and Ella Carey. Ceola Bergin scored a brilliant goal, set up by Ella Carey in the 20th minute of the match. Laura Hogan and Sheoladh Cunningham-Dynan worked hard in the backs creating scoring opportunities throughout the entire match.

During the second half our girls came back stronger. However,  Mercy scored an unexpected goal 3 minutes into this half. Ella Carey, Ceola Bergin and Amber De Lewis took outstanding shots but they were blocked well by the opponents goalkeeper. Kayleigh Delaney and Ceola Bergin worked well together to get ahead of Mercy. A corner was taken by Mercy in the 67th minute of the match which lead to a goal scored, this made the score 2-1. Two minutes later, Ceola Bergin scores with a super and well deserved goal for the Coláiste. Then another 2 minutes later Mercy score a third goal followed by yet another goal making the score 4-2 with 10 minutes left. Grace Mulrooney made tremendous saves throughout this match.

Final score  4-2.

The girls worked hard throughout the entire match but in the end it didn’t go their way. We wish them luck in their upcoming cup quarter final this week.

This match report was written by GAA future leaders Emma Kirwan, Ciara Crofton, Lauren Lynch and Mary-Kate Cleary.

25 YEARS OF COLÁISTE

The 2024-2025 school year is an exciting one in many respects, not least of which is due to the fact that it marks a significant milestone in the history of the school- marking 25 years since Coláiste Phobal Ros Cré opened, following the amalgamation of the three schools in the town. Bearing this in mind we are working on a project to mark this milestone and would like to invite you, the alumni of CPR to have an input.

We would love if you could share with us your stories, memories and photographs of your time in Coláiste- or- in whichever one of the three schools in the town that you attended. You can send us anything you would like to  alumni@cpr.ie or if it suited you to drop something into the school directly that would be great also!
