Letter from Principal 13-10-2020

Dear Parents, Guardians & Students,

Please see the important details for the week ahead.

Level 3 Restrictions:  The school has conducted a review of its Covid-19 procedures following the announcement of Level 3 restrictions nationwide.

From Monday 12th of October 2020, please ensure that your child has everything they need for the school day with them. We are no longer permitting the dropping of books, lunches, etc. to the school if a student has forgotten them. If your child has an issue, they should speak with the Year head. We are no longer facilitating meetings in the school. All meetings will be conducted via telephone. If you are collecting your child from the school, you are not permitted to enter the school building. Please ring the office on 050523939 and your child will be brought to you. Your cooperation in the above is much appreciated.

Blended Learning/School Closures

There has been much speculation and rumour regarding potential school closures and moving to online learning. We know that these are a cause of concern for many. Please be assured that the school will keep the entire school community well informed and will communicate any official decisions as a matter of priority through the appropriate communication channels.

Stay Home if Unwell

We continue to operate our policy of staying at home if unwell and we wish to thank you as parents/guardians in supporting this. Parents/Guardians are reminded not to send their child if they display the following symptoms:

  • a temperature of 38 degrees Celsius or more
  • any other common symptoms of coronavirus such as a new cough, loss or changed sense of taste or smell, or shortness of breath
  • been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for coronavirus
  • been living with someone who is unwell and may have coronavirus

Parents/Guardians are asked to note that where your child has had a test for Covid-19 and the result is negative they can only return to school 48 hours after they are symptom free. Further information is available at the HSE website.
