NEWS – NOV 22 2015

The annual Tráth na gCeist Boird at Junior level organised by the Nenagh branch of Conradh na Gaeilge took place on Tuesday 17th November in the Ostán Chuirt na Mainistneach in the town. Four schools were involved with a total of 29 teams competing. The other schools were Borriokane College with 4 teams, Nenagh CBS  with 8 teams, Abbey CBS Tipperary town with 12 teams and Coláiste Phobal Roscrea with 6 teams from 24 travelling students.

The competition consisted of 8 rounds of 5 questions covering a wide range of topics and including two picture rounds. The Coláiste Phobal students were all from 2nd Year across the four class groups with the 6 teams comprising, Áine Gleeson, Eilish Gleeson, Tadhg Hogan, Melissa Rossiter. Simba Havatitye, Richard Ó Caoimh, Jade Quinlan, Caoimhe Tuohey. Patrick Rosiek, Ciara Sammon, Fiona Scully and Oran O’Reily, Kelly Feehan, Laura Gilmartin, Nadia Fletcher, Jack Flannery who were our last team with a score of 27 out of 40 and tied for 5th prize but narrowly missed out in the tie breaker. Eve Du Berry, Liga Litavniece, Jane Cleary and Geoffrey Drought. Julie Brennan, Niamh Geraghty, Tiffany O’Riordan and Claire O’Connor made up the 6th team. The Bus driver was Bertie Fitzpatrick and the accompanying teacher was Mr. Duane. All students were excellent on the day and really enjoyed the experience and the stop off at Obama Plaza topped the day off.

Our annual musical takes place Wednesday 25th November to Friday 28th November.
