BACK TO THE 8O’S WITH A BANG!

We can now say with certainty that we truly recieved the ultimate experience by joining the graduating class of William Ocean High School as they lived through their final senior year, as they experienced the fun, the heartbreak, the love and loneliness of growing up. From a Kung Foo kicking computer geek to dancing on the ceiling, from cheer leaders to Bonnie Tyler, Coláiste Phobal’s Transition Year production had the whole nine yards. When the audience are singing the songs leaving the hall you know you’ve hit a home run. This Transition Year production would not have been possible without all of the following – The Cast of :

Colaiste Phobal Ros Cre Camogie

Thursday, November 19th saw the senior ladies of Colaiste Phobal Ros Cre travel to Moneygall to take on Colaiste Mhuire of Ennis in a senior quarter final. This was going to be a hard fought battle on a number of levels. Colaiste Mhuire had beaten the Roscrea ladies last year in a Junior Championship match so we knew this opposition were tough. At stake also was a place in the Munster Semi Final.

From the start it was a very close encounter with both teams fighting for every ball. The Half time score saw colaiste phobal Ros Cre ahead on a score line of 1-2 to 0-3.

There was a flurry of goals in the second half but it was sheer heart and determination that saw the Roscrea ladies get over the line. Final score: Coláiste Phobal Ros Cré 3-7, Colaiste Mhuire, Ennis 3-3.

This win now secures a place in the Senior D Semi Final against Desmond College/carrignavar in the coming weeks.

Our junior team has also secured a semi-final spot in the Sr. Patricia Cup.

Training is going very well under the guidance and expertise of Mr. Aidan Franks who has come on board as Trainer/Coach this year. The girls and management team are putting in a huge effort to ensure the progression of Camogie in Coláiste Phobal Ros Cré.
